Who We Are

SEO supports vulnerable communities in Afghanistan and beyond through emergency aid, education, economic empowerment, and health programs. By improving healthcare access, raising awareness, and strengthening resilience, we help individuals build sustainable livelihoods and a more equitable future.

Society Empowerment Organization (SEO) was established in 2008 as a local non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Afghan youth, women, and communities through education, economic growth, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development. For more than 17 years, SEO has successfully implemented over 40 projects across 18 provinces of Afghanistan, improving the lives of thousands of vulnerable families, returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and marginalized groups.

Our vision is a peaceful and developed Afghanistan, where every individual lives with dignity, self-sufficiency, and hope for a better future. Our mission is to work hand in hand with local communities and civil society to deliver impactful services in education, health and nutrition, skills development, legal aid, livelihoods, and social protection.

SEO applies a community-driven and participatory approach, ensuring that local voices are included in every stage of development. By creating real opportunities for learning, entrepreneurship, and empowerment, SEO serves as a bridge between Afghan communities and international partners.

Supported by global and regional partners such as UN-WFP, UNESCO, IDLO, World Bank, IOM, CARE International, UNDP, OSF, and others, SEO remains committed to building an equitable, stable, and prosperous society for all Afghans.
