A global and more ambitious action is urgently required to achieve climate change goas of the Paris Agreement. These actions must come from government, cities, regions, businesses, and the international community writ large. DII offers integrated solutions that protect natural resources, preserve biodiversity, mitigate climate change, and promote sustainable land use and management practices. From green skills for green economy to adaptation and resilience, capacity building, climate technology, innovation, and engagement of locational communities and indigenous peoples, DII works across the eco-system to promote climate action.
DII first worked in Eastern Europe and Central Asia in 1976, and since the breakup of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, we have joined donors and governments in the region to promote democratic practices and enterprise economies, strengthen farming and business practices, and encourage responsible resource management.
Since 1975, clients such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank, and government of Mexico have called on DII to support sustainable economic growth, environmentally responsible agricultural development, and democratic processes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
DII has worked in Asia since the early 1980s, with our first projects in Indonesia. Over time we expanded greatly in Indonesia and gained experience across the continent, from Timor-Leste and Mongolia to Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Our work in the Middle East and North Africa began with design and evaluation assignments in 1976 and continues today with major programs in many development fields.
DII traces its corporate roots to Sub-Saharan Africa. Today, we help African governments, businesses, private organizations, and communities overcome their most pressing challenges.
